The Path Here
Renee's background connects practical work, Louisiana schools, legal training, and social work into one public-service path.
Renee grew up in Tioga, Louisiana. She attended Paradise Elementary, Tioga Junior High, and Tioga High School.
She began working at the age of 15 and continued working throughout her life until her recent retirement to run for Judge. Renee was the first person in her family to attend law school. Her mother and sister both chose careers in nursing, while Renee followed a path toward law, service, advocacy, and public leadership.
Renee began her college education at LSUA, which was a junior college at the time. She then transferred to Northeast University, now known as the University of Louisiana Monroe, for one year before returning home to complete her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Louisiana College, now Louisiana Christian University.
She later attended Louisiana State University, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. Renee also earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from LSU.
Renee has always wanted to help others. Throughout her life, people naturally gravitated toward her for advice, and becoming an attorney seemed like a meaningful way to put her strong personality, analytical mind, and public speaking skills to use in service of others.
Renee is running for District Judge of the Thirty-Fifth Judicial District Court in Grant Parish because she believes it is time for a fresh approach. She believes the current system needs change and that the "good old boy" network needs to be shaken up. Renee believes she brings empathy, experience, respect, and authenticity to the courtroom. She believes every person who appears before the court deserves to be heard, respected, and treated fairly.
